Isaiah 43:2

On April 30th, 2016 a fire with unknown cause started at 1:30 in the afternoon.  It happened during a dry hot spell in our squatter village where most of the houses are made from coconut wood, bamboo, and thatch.  With the gale winds off the bay the fire spread quickly ravaging eight houses completely and partially burning five others.  We are so thankful that everyone made it out of the houses alive, but most lost everything except the clothes they were wearing including our house and all of our things. This has put many things in perspective, like storing up your treasure in heaven, and every thing will pass through fire and whatever is perishable will burn up. It is quite obvious that nothing on this earth will make its way to heaven, so why do things and stuff play such a part in our lives. Three things made it through that fire, God's love, our love for others, and the love and support from friends and family. Destruction of any kind can't touch them.
