Cold weather across the USA. Introducing Maddy (Sandra) to our regular Zoomers: Mel & Debbie, Becky, and Will & Patty and how we all know each other.  Story of our wedding. Pastor Richard and the church for free, Paul sang, Pam decorated, cost of flowers (Sam covered it), cake for a gift, Mark S shoot video for free, Todd played piano, no photographer so we asked a bunch friends to shoot photos for us, rings we bought at the Beaver Trading Post. small and then grew,  No honeymoon, went to the "Honeycomb Hide out", returned gifts that were duplicate to get a half fridge the following day. Met Maria on Monday when returned to school. The story of Mark's dad, 11th hour salvation, All of Patti's family is still alive and what a blessing that is (both parents are in their 80s and doing well). Cold is relative. Made a Buddy Olympics photo frame, all the decorations and furniture in our house are donated

Patti's parents brought the newsletter to the Tyrrells, mom would visit aunt Florence in Vancouver and then when she moved to assisted care in Portland, and bring her fresh fruit. Elf Olympics is based o the Elf movie, we will celebrate with the Bartle family they will come over and stay the night. Christmas decorations up. Our snowman in Stanfeld "Fallen and can't get up" just built it knocked down. JT old youth pastor always set times to remember like 7:17, still remember it today. We have arranged a live video that corresponds with the Bartles stay with the kids in Subangan. Will have a Christmas Party at Subangan this year. Just served in Marshall and did 5 ultrasounds. All changed their minds but one (who later decided to keep her baby). Harder ultrasounds when they are so early, more meticulous and time consuming. Marko has been asked to do small group leader in Awana and to do songs with the kids. He did well and is asked to continue. Trinidad Movie making (Bekah in My Arms), Trinidad flat frog songs, Bekah interested in the decaying cow. Becky is recovering from a back injury and the Tyrrells are recovering from COVID.

Tornado weather in Canton, TX while Marko was going to a play that he is in, sirens went off, at large farmers market, took shelter, people went out to look, and some went into the bathrooms, the building rumbled. Reminded us of being in the Philippines and telling people to evacuate for a possible tsunami, and instead of running to higher ground they run to the see to watch for it. YIKES! Tornado story. Marko is in s play, sub-culture at the farmers market. Patti served in Marshall, and unusual day, one sent to the ER, the other appeared to have an ectopic she sent on to her doctor. Bekah doesn't think she is good in Spanish even though Senior year she got "Best in Spanish" award, but she says she's not because she is not immersed to where she thinks and dreams in the other language like she experienced in the Philippines. Marko is building a deck with repurposed wood that he has salvaged from the burn pit for a nice outdoor space to enjoy our backyard. Times we have been first responders. Patti differing construction medical care to Marko removing a fish-hook from a finger and a ring from a hand that the finger was injured and swilling. Marko reducing his own fractures.

Patti just got home from working in Henderson, Becky just hurt her back, and just saw Will Shepy a Christian accupuncturist in Albany, YEY!  Marko assisting the Awana game leaders at our church here in Texas, really fun for him, and now he is helping them with their theater group and in their play this weekend. He is in a sword fight and has one line. He is casted to be Scrooge next month! Patti shares about her awesome day, how the Lord provided the right staff, and a patient gave her life to Jesus. Training people to serve Lindale. Bombings in Dallas, New York, Portland after the leak of the recent Supreme Court decision, so we hired security for a season. So Marko is now volunteering as security for Ruth. He got to witness a previous client come and tank us.  He stopped something from happening. He also wants to minister to the homeless that may be outside while he is there.  Then we can go on a date afterwards since we are in the big city of Tyler 😉.  Debbie did security at Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland back in Marko's BC days when he was hanging out down there. Authority vs Power.

Marko volunteering as security for Ruth, and saw a scenario and may diverted it. One of the Fatherheart girls is being admitted to be induced. Jessica story. The Tyrrell basement was her sancuatry and she loved waking up to hearing Patty sweep. They have been the stable nana and papa for Jessica's kids. One of the kids on camp (15yo freshman) that likes to hang out with Marko. Little brother Lewis planting trees in the parking lot. "There was Jesus" reminds him of a song that was sung to Mark when he was away from the Lord, and the Lord was drawing him to himself. A very personal song. God pursued Mark, hope for grandkids and grandmas praying, God will pursue them.

Becky joins with her beautiful garden back yard that they have worked hard at to make since they moved into their new house and enjoying an nice Indian summer. Becky was so surprised to see how green East Texas is. Marko shared a video with Becky of him pulling in returning home after the long drive trip from the NW. Patti hosted the Zoom meeting last week from Ruth on the way home, but it dropped at the end so it wasn't recorded to upload here. He has recovered well. He got to spend time with Jack and Darlene and stayed the night, they donated a bunch of stuff. The Bartles got to share about their trip to Florida and Alaska. Fire on Living Alternatives property, 2 sheds were lost, grateful it wasn't worse. All the little tings matter and add up. The hammer story in Nasuli in the Philippines and Nehemiah came into "occupy" during a possible hostile transition. God sent rain and took care of it. A little bit is better than nothing. Smaller is an opportunity to go deeper. Trying to get a residence visa for Philippines. Living Alternatives Banquet, Marko got to attend, his impression.

On board Ruth for this zoom meeting. Training 2 volunteers, one nurse and one advocate. Had one patient that was great. Met Karen, Jackie, and Dan. Little quick tour inside of Ruth. Will be coming home to Mark tonight, he is already home. He stayed with Melissa and Adam Odell in Tuscon, AZ stayed 2 nights and went to church with them. Then stayed in LasCruses and Colorado City, TX, now home. Awning on Ruth. Prayer for a difficult relationship, Jackie training to run Ruth on another day to serve Lindale. Internet cut out because at the end of the trip on Ruth.

Sharing of a lot of good news, a patient who was wanting an abortion changed her mind after seeing her baby through ultrasound and she gave her life to Christ, follow up on 5 from December that have all delivered and are parenting, Marko visited Bekah, then got really sick and with lots of prayer and supplements and rest took a turn and recovered as rapidly as it hit him, this took place at Mama Gloria's, after his full day of recovery then he looked like he had a good time at Mama Gloria and Steve's place, then he picked up a hitch-hiker on the way to Fresno and got to minister to him (please pray for Guy), and now he is in Clovis California staying with his friend Bernie from Hume Lake when they were 19, then we talked about random places we have done zoom meetings, bible studies, Annamae is joining my church in Texas online bible study and so is Leizel in the Philippines, told a little of Leizel's story.

Marko is not feeling well (neg COVID). going to people's houses for meetings, and he renovated the Fisher's club house from being for big boys to little girls, Patti went to a Rotary meeting to share about Ruth and the mobile ministry serving Henderson and the larger organization of Living Alternatives, and the coming 1 year anniversary celebration for serving Henderson, Patti twisted her knee 2 days ago, training new volunteers and finding where they fit, forest tires in Southern Oregon and Northern California may affect the route Marko plans to drive, pray for rain, Pastor Ben and Pastora in the Philippines are enjoying their first time ever vacation, Nedy and Steven just got a washer from Don and Gail.

  Annamae joins us from the Philippines and updates us on Alexa, Marko joining us on his trip, recent meeting with Steve and Pat Finnegan, PIP Partners in Prayer, EastRiver staff, gets to see Pastor Dan and Beth at their son's wedding will get to see City's Edge Church, Will and Patty helped Marko with renovating the Fisher clubhouse, Gary also came and helped with the rebuild, Adam has a guest appearance talking about the rebuild, first roommates stories (putput course, no lights to save money, etc), sweating in the Philippines, issues on the mobile, Portland and Dallas crazy traffic.

Marko is in Portland staying at the Fishers right now, taking down the boys' club house he built years ago, redesigning one for girl grand daughters, car appointments are almost done on the new donated vehicle, spoke at a little bible study last night at a home group gathering at the Fishers, Patti had a full day of ultrasounds on Tuesday back in Athens Texas, now Ruth is in the shop getting the awning worked on so services got cancelled for Thursday, all Staff YWAM party on Wednesday nurse consultation of staff while there, Melody and Keith Green history and owning this property, tract from Last Days Ministries "Why go to the Mission Field" impacted Patti, and their ministry impacted both Marko and Patti in our early Jesus following years, impact of Jesus on all of our marriages, and Patti's testimony.

Marko is hosting, had a wild storm in Henderson just blow through and have the volunteers to come on board, our security radioed in and asked if we were ok because the lightning was everywhere.  He was watching from a truck in the parking lot. He told us that no one should leave the mobile. Our canopy blew away and wrapped around a telephone pole. The driver on the way home offered to buy a replacement for Saturday's services.  He is such a blessing.  The automatic awning has been a problem and been in the shop and they haven't been able to Gert to it. Marko talked about Samson the dog that he tied one time to a ladder. The 2 clients she saw, one was a 17 yo that walked across the southern Texas boarder in January. She was negative and Spanish speaking only.  Then talked about another client we saw earlier this week. She to walked across the Mexico border 6 months ago. She has no family in the area.  So she came to tell us that she miscarried over the weekend. We were able to love on her and minister to her. Marko talked about Patti helping start Glory Babies a support group in Tyler. Now there is a Children's Park in Tyler to celebrate life. Marko is in house-sitting dog-sitting and yard watering in Portland.and working at revising the boy's kid club house from over a decade ago to a little girls playhouse. Talked about the Carr family our friends that had an Extreme Home Makeover.

Patti just got home, kinda crazy busy day of services since there were no other appointment trained volunteers but needed a chaperone minimally, couldn't gat any of my trained volunteers. then brought a school counselor as a fill in, Scanned a large girl that was in denial over her pregnancy and was way further  than she realized, and had my first abortion minded patient post Roe v Wade patient, and then a delightful patient to end the day on. "Music for the children" project idea, the Filipino kids sing songs they don't understand (non-native tongue like English or Tagolog). Subangan put up tres today for play, big slipper story and race.

Adjusting and rested. The Ruth team did well in Patti's absence. Marko doing projects from repurposed wood. Ruth ministry is established for this time that RvWade is over-turned. God is good. Marko is hoping to get a hot tub for his pain in the winter. Trip to Oregon coming, getting the vehicle the first night, wedding in Turner, Gunstones, Tyrrells, Church service, Zoe board meeting, then Marko will visit Bekah, Stanfield Church, then Patti fly home. Simple staying in the Philippines, sleeping on a mat on the floor, electric, short toilets and flushing, Becky will host us on the 13th evening after the wedding. Fatherheart update. Grove update, James had COVID, leak in the walls. Mark tells a story about accidentally flooding New Song Church when he was 20. The next one who got the job he trained them to hold a knob so he wouldn't leave it unattended. He figured it out and in a couple weeks he too flooded the church. Marko and I got married there, married and buried his brother and his mother.

Just returned from the Philippines to Texas. First day back on the mobile busy. One year celebration in Athens. Napping from jet lag. Flights and more flights. Last Zoom with Zoe was in Manila with Mel and Debbie only. Our flight got cancelled for Friday and got rescheduled for Saturday. Lost our booked hotel in SFO, but still made our connecting flight to DFW. Found a place in the airport that no one was at where we laid down to seat. The TSA officer on break there told us that the day before the international side of SFO was evacuated for a bomb. That would be there reason our flight was cancelled. The Philippines was A LOT, hot and sweaty, it was harder than we remember. Luggage in Manila was 3 days late in arriving. Stayed at the Nazarene Bible Seminary in Manila. Brought them equipment, explained Jesus Film Project. Flew in to Cagayan de Oro, saw Annamae and Alexa, visited Nehemiah House. Things have grown and doing well. A sweet farewell service. Steven and Nedy are a big part of leading the growth. John Visser is donating his Tahoe to the ministry. So Marko will get it in Washington and will drive it back to Texas. New addition to the house Marti the cat. LBC storage in the Philippines (sent in 2020 now opening them July 2022) scary with cockroaches, rats, bugs and feces. Everything smelled like pee. Marko took care of that while Patti went to see Christine to surprise her for her high school graduation. Things we thought had washed away were in the boxes. So it was a blessing to find some supplies we sent in 2020.

Live from the Philippines, Patty T is sick, welcome to Pandan, we got to visit the Nehemiah House and surprise Christine at her graduation from high school at 26 yo (little recap of her story), expirations on the philippine roads so they brake them up and re-lay them regularly, the Malaybalay road is now 2 lanes wider, then went to the Nehemiah House in the mountains had such and Christmas in July boxes, what being a Nehemiah girl really means (a case of sexual abuse), a wonderful welcome arrival into Pandan, experiencing AlaCart, Naneth's beautiful reaction, 30 minute preaching to an hour, bible study this afternoon and Marko is headed to the mountains with Nedy and Steven, rebuilt houses in Pandan, the joys of going through the LBC shipment.

June 24th

Treasure and adventure await...Welcome to the Philippines! 3 days waiting for luggage in Manila. Introductions...Annamae, Alexa and Meka. Annamae tells her story, known her for 14 years. Met at Nehemiah at 15 years old. Helped her go to college. Alexa is almost 10 years old now, she was a premie at 7 months. Now she is a social worker at a private hospital. Nehemiah now has asked help from her when staff has had surgery. The social worker of Nehemiah Annamae was able to help her as a social worker at the hospital.

Meka we have known since she was 9 years old. Helped her father after he had stroke. Best friends with Bekah. Helped run Shine Club, even for 3 more years after Bekah left before Meka left for college. This July will start her internship for her final year of college. In pandemic only zoom class but no practical laboratory experience. So she volunteered at a local lab, The loved her and they want to help her get good internship opportunities. The experience really helped her get a head in school now that they recently have resumed face to face classes. Annette is a blessing and helps sponsor Meka, and Debbie shared the fun dolls she makes to fundraise to help. She also does our website.  The hospitals in Cagayan de Oro. Education in the Philippines.

Zoom During Travel

We are in SanFransico waiting to board for Manila, waiting behind the security cart. Our final meeting was with a Philippine Group. They just saw "A Matter of Life" and they were moved and wondering how to be involved, and when Patti shared about what she is doing with the mobile in East Texas, it touched their hearts and realized they can be involved through us. They gave a financial blessing. They gave us extra gifts to bring. The baggage blessing story. Got to pray for Dain and his new cancer diagnosis. Our accountant joined us for a little while and so did our missions pastor Roland from our church in Texas. Story about traveling to Trinidad and Tobago with our extra bags with bibles. Story about breaking a toe before a trip and what a blessing it turned out to be. Story about Nicaragua. Our plans in the Philippines.

Here in Albany missed Karen last night at Becky's, Conner her grandson performed at Timber Ridge Concert, we are staying at Patti's brother's on Gipson Hill, lots of rain in the Willamette Valley, there will be an "atmosheric river" over the next 3 days, recap on our trip so far. When God leads, stepping out feels vulnerable, like washing and kissing feet, and other leading. Slow down and enjoy the moment.

Bartles are coming on Sunday to stay the night! Soccer for the Bartles ended well with everyone tying. Story from Trinidad about Bekah and an MK, Marko's reaction, the Lord's challenge to Marko to love him, the 10 mile run turning into 36 mile run over the mountains in Trinidad. Sayings from people you are close to, "You don't go to the fun you take it with you, "If you are bored its because you are boring." "You make the decision how you react to the circumstances.", "If it is worth doing it is worth doing well," "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Sorry about being out of zoom meetings so set up today's and the next 20 sessions after it was time to start. Becky, Karen, Mel and Deb tried to connect already before the new meeting link. Patty's sister in law just passed away. A delayed box to the Philippines just arrived and sent photos to Patty and Will. Zoe Meeting coming, Our Zoe family in the Philippines wants to do a ton of stuff while we are there (get tackled, build a church, mountain outreach, a wedding). We are short on finances so we will see what God leads us to do.

May 12th, 2022

Cora's recent birthday, also Marko's (May the 4th be with you), kid's from the Philippines singing a greeting to him for his birthday, Patti preparing for a training and her absence concerning the mobile, being obedient to the prompting of the Lord (a missed opportunity to share a message, letting someone else win, working at a Christian Camp at 20 years old had a headache but lead to share) dying to your natural desires and obeying. Marko's brother Steve taught him to ask if the thought from yourself, the enemy, or the Lord? Marko asked those questions and realized going back to the campfire wasn't from himself or the enemy so he obeyed. Went back and found out a couple of campers wanted to respond to the invitation to receive Christ that evening at chapel but there weren't enough counselors available. What?! Are you kidding?! So Marko got to lead them to a personal relationship with Christ right there at the campfire. Following an impression to keep driving. Saw a mom and 2 daughters stranded on the roadside in the cold, able to help, shared his testimony, and she shared the mom had prayed to God asking Him to show that He is real. Another story about picking up a guy on the side of the road, sharing his testimony, and leading this guy to the Lord. New Zoe t-shirts.

Patti just returned from services during a crazy storm that tornado alarms went off. 2 places near had it touch down (NE and SE of where we were set up). Newsletter, update on Subanganplay area (titter-totters and benches), positive wholesome place where children can play supervised instead of watching over their big brothers shoulder at the Internet cafe playing violent video games or ponography, cleaning the beach and the neighborhood village shore line, basketball hoop is up, more than 45 kids playing in the photo, training teachable but the barrier is shyness, new youth outreach, Pastor Ben, Pastor Richard way back in our marriage counseling.

Full schedule in Henderson, Marko is teaching at Allaso Ranch this week, having a driver is such a blessing getting charting done, successful day in Henderson, making plans for the mobile to continue while I am gone on the trip to the Philippines, meal program, Will's birthday today, newsletters, Marian Hungerford missionary in Cameroon Africa for over 40 years, we depart on Jun 1 at 4am, don't have a borrowed car yet for the NW, baptisms in the Philippines on Easter, Subangan, floating rink at Oaks Park it would be nice to do that at Subangan but anchor it so it doesn't float away, a typhoon that impacted Cagayan de Oro Evie's laptop survived on the air matress and tied a vehicle off to a pole and it didn't wash away, evacuating to higher ground and stronger buildings, women and children need to evacuate first, Patty, will, Debbie and Mel have all visited the Philippines. They all said visiting the Philippines changes your life (they are poor having a hard time putting food on the table but they are happy, it makes you see how much we really have, and you fall in.love with the kids), Will said it woke him up to the reality of much of the rest of the world. So hot to sleep. Patty told of a cobra that got killed and taken to be eaten. Debbie's eye opener was how they didn't think ahead like over fishing their bay and not thinking about conservation. Patti said how much she appreciates Marko's skills at taking out dangerous snakes.

Recovered from illness, God's grace and empowering Holy Spirit sustains to do what we need to do (Patti scanning Marko preaching), Grove renovation planning several work days but miraculously got it all done in 2 hours, COVID in the Philippines, Patti at the hospital checking on one of her patients and dealing with other things she sees (neglect) at the same time, delivery room story and resuscitating someone else's baby, TB in the Philippines, navigating the Philippine healthcare setting, medical stories, how we taught bible studies just let the Bible speak for itself and people discovering Jesus and a personal relationship with Jesus.

Tornados, spread out East Texas, Marko's best day, going to the Philippines in June, Roland willing to come sometime, teams and they are a mission field also, being ready to give and ready to receive, wild cat coming by, pack rats, Charlotte the pet pig, food being served with heads on is part of the Philippine culture, a small fish leading Marko in a swim in the bay (cool God illustration), learning from animals (consider the ant), Radar.

March 17th, 2022

Coaching basketball, working on the trail, power-washing the deck, Marko's back popping but tolerating longer and recovering faster, pacing himself. Patti is holding babies, giving medical advice, just hosted a big training, God has brought Patti to such a different wonderful place, where she is just flowing and not being stressed out. Patti talked about her fear of public speaking and how the Lord has done such a huge work in her, now she just rolls with it. Marko talked about the marriage group we got invited to and how Patti was Ok with Marko saying he had an idea about what to share but willing to just flow with it. And we did, and it turned out amazing, not because of prep but because of the Holy Spirit. Marko shared about how he use to get out when he was little. Shared about first cars and hoopties.

Mask mandates easing, weather in the NW, Texas weather whiplash, don't be good at anything you don't like LOL, Mark had stigmatism so he didn't see verticle smudges, Patti charting, long day because the patients came at the end of the day, God provided a Spanish translator, a Guatemala immigrant. Gillian joined us, customs/boarder control stories (USA, Trinidad, Nicarauga), American rights don't carry over the boarders, KFC in Trinidad, different English that you don't understand, Taxi etiquette don't use "yes or no" questions, taxi drivers are captive audience, Awanas and the kids understanding about being a missionary.

Our unexpected anniversary COVID, God's provision, Paisley the cat, love notes from the Bartles who cared for the cat, icy weather and cancelling mobile services, cold in Texas and Arizona, texas and golf carts, Philippines possibly re-opening, last minute invitation to speak with Pastor Ben, radio show with Pastor Ben spontaneously inviting Marko to give the messages for the next hour, restating the last statement in counseling as reflective listening opens up opportunities for good communication and relationship building.

Our "noise" is off, under the weather, Bill is sick with COVID, Subangan washed out and time to rebuild and 1880's pump organ donated to sell for fundraising, schools closing for lack of staff r/t COVID, Marko taught in Awanas, writing Ilocano children songs, many filipino overseas workers end up in slavery, children coop for feeding and bible study, squatters rules, woken up at 2-3 am "they're building a house in Subangan, come and stop them", Steve doing security and having authority, being coached by Steve as a little brother, growth spirt later on in life, 32 years anniversary next week, Eli volunteers to take care of Paisley, Marko will hang out with the Bartles tomorrow in the evening, Bartle Christmas tree is still up decorating through out the year, pray for Will not feeling well.

Women are changing their minds and getting support locally, have scanned twins, update on the the club house (paint sprayer), camouflage, Marko teaches as they help work (the kids are invested), Marko helping a friend with her dogs that she breeds. Marko helping a friend develop his property for camping sites, our friend Kim recently let him know his outdoor classrooms he creating are in high use and they need more. Patti has had a little down time over the holidays, great meeting today, developing. a needed role for the mobile ministry. Kitty in the towel cupboard for most of the day. Though Subangan house and activity area was destroyed by the recent Typhoon, they are still meeting their for feeding, Bible study and play, which is really encouraging. $3000 bamboo house lasted 5 years and the area has over 62,000 people interactions which makes it completely worth the investment. They plan to build again.

Streaming the Christmas Eve Celebration Service in the Philippines. Kids told about earning "Buddy Bucks" for sending to the Philippines for them to have a Christmas party. They went caroling, built gingerbread houses and gave them away, the avalanche gingerbread was a piled up parts of gingerbread houses with powdered sugar on top, they decorated the Kenney house with Christmas decorations. made cut out snowflakes, all apart of Elf Olympics. Police at 2:30am in the morning. Then a gain a few days later. Called the Fatherheart House parents. Apparently part of being the first house on the property nearest the gate. Subangan after typhoon. Dogs wander in during church service, get use to it, but when have visitors it stands out again. Initiation of Maria dealing with a child with diarrhea. Free range dogs that are not owned nor pets become food in the Philippines. Different mindset from our American perspective related to food. It isn't wrong it is just different. Remember next week we will start an hour earlier.

Typhoon Rai (Odette) impact in the Philippines, flooding and wind destruction, evacuation from Pandan to the Church, bridges washed out, Annamae sick but stranded not able to return to work until bridges fixed. Great day on Ruth with 3 pregnancy tests and 4 ultrasounds and all the patients came because they saw Ruth in their Christmas parade. In another location 5 abortion minded ultrasounds, 3 are choosing to parent. Elf Olympics with Bartle kids, club house at the community with lots of kids and they have invested in the club house as well. Christmas in the Philippines.

Becky and Bill are buying a new house. We are fully settled into our place on the Living Alternatives campus, high winds today even going to our launch day in Henderson for Ruth, recent tornado watch, a friend's story survived a tornado but the house was gone. Typhoons in the Philippines high winds and monsoon rains and flooding, Marko would send us to evacuate to a safe place and men would stay back to keep boats from washing out, LivingWater sent a box to the Philippines, training/orientation for Living Alternative volunteers (9 for the mobile), scanning someone that has had a previous pregnancy loss and the anxiety (PTSD) that can be stirred up and support and referral offered, Marko volunteering with Awanas, progress on the club house, garage for Ruth having an electrician come for tomorrow to install RV shore power for winter coming. Experienced 3 falls in one year in 2020, leaving the NW going to Minnesota, then to Texas to make up for all the falls we missed in the Philippines.

We love you Becky, didn't do Google Earth pre-navigation had to U-turn Ruth around twice this morning in the dark and in the rain at 6am for a Latino health fair, planning to launch services on the border once a month and Henderson 1st and 3rd Thursdays, 24 pregnancy tests and 13 ultrasounds on Ruth in the month of Sept! An unplanned pregnancy overcoming story of resilience and maturity, 2 weeks fostering a crack baby, bike parts stolen, the Oaks Apartments kids ministry, and then on Hwy 31 Apartments near Trinity Fellowship kids ministry while Patti on bedrest, broke the ice...cream, settling into our new place, 1/2 inch plywood on the burn pile, distribution done in the Philippines, school is still at home in the Philippines, pray for friends for Alexa.

In our new home on campus of Living Alternatives, the first night there, Lord has provided furniture. Bekah is back in college. Tour of the place. Working at Faith and making the Upper Room at 2 a.m. Story about moving in to the bad part of town, known as "Crack Alley" in Portland, groceries still in the bag stolen. Getting a broken bottle at Mark and being told to give him his money reacted with praising God, be on the offense and introduce yourself. Will and Patty know us from childhood, before Marko and Patti met. Opening our home to occasional homeless, the guy under the bridge, Nicaragua change in perspective, ministering to homeless on the mobile, Fatherheart Maternity Home.

Update on the lockdown in the Philippines, Marko's car overheated today but enjoying the day and the moments anyway, Marko called and serenaded Patti, facing trials and challenges consider it all joy, 4-wheeled motor cycle, NPA militia group, riding up to minister in the mountains on bad roads telling the story of falling backward on to the guitar strapped to his back, grant for a new ultrasound just awarded, mobile clinic is being wrapped,  tree house update, designing for varied ages and leading tasks for various age kids that want to help, running youth groups from 3-30 in Trinidad for 2 hours, update on Ruthie's dad, Patti will be visiting Portland for her nephew's wedding in July.

Becky volunteering at Options for a diaper give-away, silly zoom backgrounds, Marko's trip to Oregon and finishing the bamboo bungalow, relationship and the memories it creates is the lasting important thing not the project itself, loved the team building experience it was, turned out well and has built Marko's confidence at what he can create and accomplish, good Star Wars geeking out time with Dain, he is recovering well from his surgery, Patti is still getting the mobile ready (it is getting wrapped now)

Story about driving the VW van through the Rockies, Bekah hangout weekend, Bekah singing "Be Thou My Vision" at her Baccalaureate 2 years ago re-shared on FB yesterday, Becky hosting Marko last week for Zoom with Zoe, Philippines in lockdown and in panic, no public transportation, ports will freeze as workers are not working, goods will become scarce, those that have money will hoard, those who don't have money won't be able to their small jobs for their small livelihood because of quarantine, so the poor are in a panic, Marko did well in all the travel, pray for Ruthie's dad. will be house-sitting soon, travel distances are relative, it is just a matter of perspective, and Isaac's wedding on June 11th I will fly up to Portland Lord willing.

Belize water project with the Grove, Kim's update on Bekah at camp, promoted to leader, Mark growing up going to many camps because he was hard to handle as a kid (climbing trees and exploring), ran youth group like camp, over spring break Easter plays produced and rehearsed 24-7 til Easter, great memories, story of applying to work at Sky Ranch, working at Sky Ranch, leadership training field trips, bring a blessing, writing a camp song "Fine and Dandy", camping style experience has become a part of who we are and how we do ministry like in the Philippines in Pandan and in Nehemiah, we were campers at Hume Lake in the very beginning of our relationship, Marko's story of God's provision to go to Hume Lake and then a job opens up for him, Patti worked the next summer at Hume Lake, Patti got a 1 year scholarship at Hume Lake Christian Camps for Multnomah School of the Bible, married in nursing school, brief mobile update.

Patti & Kim is not feeling well, Marko headed to Albany tomorrow, Bekah arrived in Texas and enjoying camp, Marko has worked with Kim at 3 different camps, Sam Barnhart has COVID please pray for him, Bekah has done really well in school, she applies knowledge well and interjects what she has learned in life, our family did an escape room challenge was so fun each with our own niche (we finished it well and were 7th one this year that successfully completed it), Worship Wash Wednesday fail, how you handle difficulties are important (don't leave Jesus behind), Marko flying into Eugene tomorrow, his host in Albany recently had an appendectomy, Zoe board members are going to come down to join Marko on the 22nd to work on the Bamboo Bungaloo, weather, secret door in the clubhouse with a rope to climb up to the next level, taking apart pallets for free wood, tower work leftovers, good problem of too many resources, Patti writing policies for the mobile clinic and being a people person.

Karen's trip to Arizona, picking up Bekah this weekend at the airport to work this summer in Texas at camp, Marko has a trip to Bamboo Valley coming up, need for a public bathroom for the church in the Philippines, Subangan is going well, dike won't destroy Subangan activity area, projects that they city says they will do doesn't always happen. painting with the community kids on the club house here in Texas, high school youth group painting story at Faith in Portland more hours cleaning up after them and tracking paint on the carpet turned out to be my own shoe causing it, speck in other people's eyes is easier to see than when we have a plank in our own eye, scaffolding incidence, what we learn in the hard times God uses to bring about good and deepening character, challenging identity not about what you do but who you are, Mark's broken feet, loss of our first child at 5 months (21weeks) of pregnancy, Glorybabies (childrensparktyler.com), people grieve differently (crying, talking about it vs not talking and wanting to fix things), a little bit in God's hands is better than a lot a bit in your hands, one stone in little David's hand took down a giant, a few loaves and fishes fed thousands.

COVID tech boom makes thousands of miles away not feel so far, churches have grown with live streaming, now re-openning to meet in person and have grown, got the newsletter, blanket forts, change of address, cutting trail in Trinidad jungle, bamboo grows fast, killing poisonous snakes in Texas and the Philippines, pineapple fields, trading, computers arrived for students, online and module learning, internet receiver in our coconut tree needing regular adjustments, have been back 3 times since, borders closed for now, saying final good-byes and when you say them again it is all bonus, internet communication makes it better because we can video chat and send regular messages. Bekah is going to come to work this summer here in Texas at the near by christian camp. YEY!!! The mobile unit is in the repair shop.

Update on Becky's dad, Grove church meeting update and new app, newsletters, everything is real not set up, blue herring scooping up a fish and flying away, 18 pelicans stopped in our lake, clubhouse update adding siding, blossoms and wild flowers in East Texas, Suya has a hurt back, vaccination status in the Philippines, Bekah has a job at Allaso Ranch this summer, introduction to Sandra, God pursued us before we knew Him, a girl singing my story, hitch hiking, downtown someone witnesses to Marko. Silas has a new puppy: Emmie, the story of the pig that smiled and danced.

Built a shed, out on the mobile unit together, connecting to Athens,  physicians on board and bilingual volunteers, looking for approval on a parking place, we are apart of something bigger when we work together great things happen, we are spoons passing on the soup, we are better together in unity than apart, relief work, the help we got for our rummage sale packing and cleaning to leave the NW, UHaul giving our stuff to launching young adults, teamwork vs unity (becoming one), encouraging that some churches have doubled in size when opening back up, camping with the kids, Regie got a job.

Mark's dream of spending time, mobile clinic exploding, new volunteer diesel mechanic, getting it serviced, first public relations gathering tomorrow with a mayor and community leaders, then driving lessons on friday, 4 hour PR event on Saturday, easy vs hard and God's will, planting seeds and harvesting, learning curve, observing and learning before jumping in, reusing clothes that wash up from the ocean, driving learning curve is various countries, ebb and flow, walking distances meeting people along the way, flooding in Pandan, different toilets in different countries, performing in different sized spaces with or without electricity, Plan A, B, C and usually D.

Visiting Albany and having a Grove Tour, Bamboo Valley and the Bamboo Bungalow, bamboo winter damage and recovery, good trip to the NW, walking through grief, good time with Bekah and ukuleles, Rainbow Club in many countries, sleeping in a tent in Wadi Rum (where Moses lead the Israelites in the wilderness) and riding a camel, travel tricks, sabbath in Israel, coliseum in Ammon, ancient city defense, Hezekiah Tunnels, the man born blind in John 9 and the obedience of the blind man to go wash in the pool of Siloam that was not easy to get to from the Temple Mount,  Masada, experiencing the Holy Lands helped our bible teaching because we can remember the places and how far places are and just makes it more real.

Weather snow storm, not taking things for granted, power outages, "Gracias El Senior" in Nicaragua and then in the Philippines,  what do we have instead of what do we not have, plan A and B and C, but God works in it all (a vacation that was paid for way in advance lined up with the week after the fire), van breaks down and we hiked the rest of the way, rebuilding houses in the Philippines, everyone is related. Bekah lost internet for a number of days which made online school difficult, a new Philippine visa category has been granted entry (investors), earth balls in the Philippines, Regie passed her boards, friends who lost their son we will head to Portland for a memorial service and support, welcome to visit Albany.

Merry Christmas!
